Young Disabled Care
Coping with Young Disability
We all know that young people, whatever their disability, cope better in the community than in a nursing home.
Sometimes the strain on a parent’s life can be too great, so our carers can deal with a lot of the stuff that just needs to be done, as well as being a friend.
It leaves you more time to be parent.
I look after my wife nearly full time, when Sandra Cooney’s Home Care came into my home it was brilliant, for a few hours a week the carer does things for Josephine that I can’t do (personal hygiene). While the carer is there, I can go out and get shopping and have a bit of free time for myself and this makes me feel good. So really, our carer helps both of us.
